Learning the Types of Infidelity and Signs of Cheating

understanding infidelity sexual affairs Whenever you find yourself in a situation where your wife or husband betrayed you, the first thing you want to know is why this occurred. There are so many reasons why a person will step out on a committed relationship, and their explanations will ultimately vary from situation to situation. Each type of affair is unique in nature, and serves different purposes for the boyfriend, girlfriend or lover involved.

HeCheatedOnMe will present a several part blog series, The Psychology of Infidelity and Cheating, starting today. The Psychology of Infidelity and Cheating will serve to be an informative and eye-opening viewpoint of different aspects of infidelity as it relates to the relationship. We will examine different examples of infidelity, such as the physical, affectionate affair, to cybersex and emotional affairs. Our hope is to help you understand more about what happened, their signs and symptoms, and eventually, heal from the events.

It is important to understand there are so many types of categories for affairs. We cannot possibly cover them all, but want you to understand that all types of affairs fall under an umbrella of three main categories: sexual, emotional and a combination of sexual and emotional. Sexual affairs include anything from a one night stand, or an “affair of convenience,” to an ongoing sexual relationship with a consistent mistress. Emotional affairs involve emotional intimacy and attachment, but exclude physical intimacy. A combination sexual-emotional affair involves both physical and emotional intimacy; it’s dangerously close to a “real” committed relationship.

Our series will begin with a look at sexual affairs.
